COLLECTING, EXPLAINED · 2 MIN READ
Your wallet, your collection
Your wallet is the tool you use to interact with your account. Knowing which action you are taking makes each connection easier to understand.
Three different wallet prompts
- 01 · CONNECT
Share your address
Let ZAPP display the selected account and its portfolio.
- 02 · SIGN
Authorize a message
A login or order can use a signature. Read what it authorizes.
- 03 · TRANSACT
Change chain state
An approval or purchase can change permissions or move assets.
An address is public; keys are private
Your public address identifies your account and can be shared to receive assets. Your wallet uses private keys to sign actions. Keep recovery phrases and private keys secret; a support conversation should never need them.
Connecting is the first step
On ZAPP, connecting lets the interface show your wallet address and portfolio. A connection is separate from authorizing a purchase, granting an approval or signing a listing. Review each new wallet prompt on its own.
Check that your wallet is on the intended network and using the expected account. The same address can appear on several networks while the assets and balances differ.
Know what you are signing
Read the app name, destination, asset and amount in your wallet. A transaction can spend funds or change permissions; a message signature can also have consequences, such as authorizing an order. If the prompt differs from the action you selected, reject it and investigate.
Disconnecting a website does not undo a previous on-chain token approval. Use your wallet’s supported permission tools to inspect and revoke permissions you no longer want.
